Dennis M. Brown, Ph.D.,
the Chairman of MVP’s Board of Directors since 2000, is the President of Valent Technologies,
LLC, which he founded in 2004. He founded ChemGenex Therapeutics in 1999, which
merged with a publicly traded Australian company in 2004 to become ChemGenex
Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CXSP), of which Dr. Brown is a Director. He was
previously a co-founder of Matrix Pharmaceutical, Inc., where he served as Vice
President of Scientific Affairs from 1985-1995 and as Vice President, Discovery
Research, from 1995-1999. He also previously served as an Assistant Professor of
Radiology at
Raymond J. Land,
C.P.A., a Director of MVP since April 2005 and head of the Audit Committee, is the Senior Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Clarient, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLRT). Mr. Land served as Senior Vice-President
and Chief Financial Officer with Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE:SFE). Mr. Land has more than 30 years
of experience in financial and general management positions. He also serves as a Director of
Anika Therapeutics (NASDAQ: ANIK) in Woburn, MA, where he is the Chairman of the Audit Committee. He previously
served as Senior Vice President and CFO of Orchid Cellmark, Inc (NASDAQ: ORCH) and as CFO of NASDAQ-traded
Genencor International, Inc., a diversified biotechnology company focusing on healthcare and bioproducts.
From 1991 to 1996, he served as Senior Vice President and CFO of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (NYSE: WST).
Previously, Mr. Land was with Campbell Soup Company, Inc., where he held increasingly senior financial positions
during nine years and also served as General Manager of a frozen food division. Prior to joining Campbell Soup,
he was with Coopers and Lybrand for nine years. Mr. Land is a Certified Public Accountant and has a degree in
accounting and finance from Temple University.
